About the Role
As a Monitoring Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and performance of our infrastructure and applications. You will collaborate with DevOps teams, DBAs, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), develop monitoring scripts, and proactively improve the monitoring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring & Analysis: Identify gaps in infrastructure and application monitoring, and develop custom monitoring scripts when out-of-the-box solutions are insufficient.
- KPIs & Service Models: Collaborate with various teams to define appropriate KPIs and create event-driven service models for critical applications.
- Dashboarding & Reporting: Set up and maintain dashboards for different stakeholders, along with regular reporting.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Propose and implement regular optimizations and innovations in monitoring processes.
Expectations for the First Three Months
- Gain full proficiency in Zenoss Service Dynamics (Resource Manager, Impact & Analytics) and manage daily monitoring tasks.
- Achieve a solid understanding of Application Performance Management and conduct root cause analysis usingAppDynamics.
- Build comprehensive knowledge of Fednot’s products and infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years as a monitoring specialist.
- Technical Skills:
- Remote monitoring tools (SNMP, SSH, WinRM, etc.).
- Scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (Windows, Linux, Network, vSphere, Docker, Web Services).
- Experience with tools like Zenoss, AppDynamics, Omnitracker, Jira, and Confluence.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and their integration.
- Languages: Fluent in one of the national languages, passive understanding of the other national language, with excellent proficiency in English.
