Position Summary
The Senior Buyer serves as a Procurement Business Partner. He/she works under recommendation of the Category Sourcing Manager’s strategic plans.
Capturing requirements, identifying opportunities, intensive co-operation with the internal customers and Procurement colleagues delivering value, in an efficient manner and fully compliant with D’Ieteren Procurement Policy is of utmost importance.
In general, the Corporate Project Buyer role characteristic is straightforward competitive bidding of projects. Processes can be very complex, as specification are not always that clear and business pressure might urge for vigorous, but always compliant, actions. Main goal for this role is contracting best value, whilst serving the business needs and delivering a compliant procurement project.
Key Accountabilities
- Procure local vs transversal projects.
- Stakeholder management.
- Manage the Sourcing to Contract activities.
- Following categories that can be covered by the Senior Buyer:
- Facilities
- Capex
- Ensure compliance to national legislation, ESG standards, and D’Ieteren Procurement Policy.
- Manage complaints and constructive approach towards claims handling.
- On incidental basis provide operational support and solve critical procurement problems (second line trouble shooting).
Internal Networking/Key relationships
- To be determined based on department needs, to include interactions such as:
- Head of Sourcing & Procurement
- Category Sourcing Managers
- Project managers
- Business lines
- Brands & Network, Finance, other affiliates of the D’Ieteren Group
- Dedicated Procurement Legal Consultant
- Finance and Account Payables
Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Education:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent through experience) in a related field. and preferably procurement specific education.
- Experience:
- Proven buying experience in Facility categories (focus on Catering, Cleaning & Security)
- A minimum of 5-10 years working experience in the same field.
- Additional Skills/Knowledge:
- Time management and result driven approach in a fast paced and highly demanding environment.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to synthesize information in a coherent manner.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
