Daily rates for external talent going up in 2022
The extension of contracts for external consultants is an interesting and highly sensitive topic. It is already hard to find external talent, and keeping them on board is even more challenging. Does that affect the daily rate once the client indicates being satisfied? The answer? It depends.
The statistics of users of the ProUnity platform over the last 6 months of 2022 shed some light on this matter.
An increase in 10% of cases
We note that nearly 10% of the extensions of external consultants’ contracts lead to an increase in the daily rate. This increase is quite significant. Indeed, it amounts, on average, to 36 euro.
Hardly any daily rate decreases
It’s clear that both freelancers and suppliers hold their ground in price negotiations. As a result, we see that the daily rate almost never goes down. Only in 0.45% of the extensions of contracts, the prolonged mission has a reduced daily rate. But when this happens, there clearly are reasons explaining the price cut resulting on average in a new contract at 75 euro below the previous one.
The daily rate in progress
In general, we can confirm that the average daily rate per assignment continues to increase compared to 2021. However, on average, this trend is not dramatic: prices go up with only 2.48% in the last 6 months of 2022.
It will be interesting to analyze these numbers at year-end to see if these trends continue.
