Background
NN and ING have set up a common insurance team called the “One Orange Team”, with the aim to become the fastest growing digital insurance franchise in Belgium. One Orange Team covers Non-Life insurance solutions, Life insurance solutions and as from 2024 also Investments solutions. While most One Orange Team members are part of the NN family and spirit, the team is physically located at the ING premises and works closely together with ING’s Insurance and Investment Tribes.
To enforce our team, we are looking for a project manager with preferably a background in (Life) investments.
Role and work environment
NN and ING have defined an ambitious roadmap over the next years to become a leading player in investment insurance solutions. You will be part of the One Orange Team working closely together with the Investments Tribe. The Investments Tribe delivers, amongst others, investment solutions and related digital and branch sales flows. As a project manager manager you will be responsible for conducting business analysis on customer facing projects in the investment domain.
You will also take the project management lead on the topics for which you’ve created business requirements, working with a broad set of stakeholders to ensure timely and transparent delivery. You will act as the right hand of the Product Owner & Squad master.
Your key responsibilities
- You are a key player in E2E delivery of projects:
- Gather and clarify information from different stakeholders (clients, commercial network, compliance & legal, …) and define the best possible, innovative solutions.
- Own and be responsible for the project planning, ensuring timely delivery: planning, communication, follow-up, etc. and ensure a smooth go live process. You are capable of negotiating and reporting to key management stakeholders.
- Identify and manage risks and potential issues across teams.
- Work with and follow-up relevant project stakeholders (Architects, Product Owners, Feature Engineers and Customer Journey Experts).
- You will report functionally to the Investment Squad Master and hierarchically to the NN OOT Delivery Manager.

What you offer
- A master’s degree or equal by experience.
- 10 Years of experience in project environment, having good knowledge of identifying stakeholder needs and translating this into requirements which can be interpreted and executed by IT teams.
- You bring structure in a complex environment, creating accountability and transparency in a delivery process which includes multiple stakeholders across different departments and companies (ING & NN).
- You have strong problem-solving skills and can find creative ways of driving progress and removing impediments.
- Has experience in the development of customer facing online projects (app and web)
- Experience within the Investments domain, the Life insurance domain or in asset management.
- Experience with an agile way of working is a plus.
- Good communication skills (English is a must, and knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a strong plus), strong communication skills (telling – selling) across different skill and seniority levels.

You will be part of the One Orange Team, which is being expanded to the Investments domain; a team of more than 50 enthusiastic professionals working together to boost the ING-NN collaboration and driving success.
At the start of this cooperation, you will be trained on the specific work environment you will be operating in, i.e. the NN products and the ING environment.
