Description

The analyst operates in 2 main areas:

  • Analysis and digitization of the city’s processes and service catalog
  • Demand management of all IT-related requests on city initiatives

Demand Management:

  • Capture, analyze, and prioritize business and IT demand from various stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper alignment of demand with available IT resources and capacity.
  • Coordinate and manage demand intake processes, following the structured approach to capturing new projects and requests.
  • Contribute to resource planning by forecasting demand and assisting in balancing IT workloads.

Business Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes to identify areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, expectations, and objectives.
  • Develop business cases and process flows to support organizational initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and surveys to understand business needs.

Functional Analysis:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT teams.
  • Ensure that functional specifications are clear, complete, and aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Assist in the development and testing of functional specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams (developers, systems architects) and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements Management:

  • Document and prioritize business requirements and functional specifications
  • Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with deliverables.
  • Manage scope changes and ensure that all requirements are adequately addressed in the final solution.

Solution Design & Testing:

  • Assist in designing IT solutions that meet business needs
  • Support the creation of test plans, cases, and scripts to validate functionality.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure proper implementation of business requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for business stakeholders regarding IT-related processes and changes.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout project lifecycles.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure that IT solutions comply with public sector regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Assist in ensuring the privacy, security, and accessibility of data and IT systems within the organization.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze the impact of implemented solutions and processes, recommending further improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support to users and address any issues related to functionality and business processes.
