Description
  • Context:
The mission of the Directorate-General for Consular Affairs is to provide a good, fast, high-quality consular service, both to Belgians (e.g. issuing passports, assistance to Belgians abroad, executing civil status certificates and nationality certificates) and to foreigners (e.g. issuing visas).
To this end, we automate, simplify and streamline our systems wherever possible.
In this context, we are looking for a UX Designer that will work on our applications e-Locket, Biomod and VisaNext.

    Responsibilities and tasks:
You design interfaces, screens, prototypes and components in your software of choice. We like Sketch but not we’re not limited by it.
You work on a shared design system for all products, to increase consistency and ease of development.
You collaborate closely with our front-end developers to bring your design to life.
You decide on the best ways to visualize the abundance of data.
You regularly talk to customers, get to know them and their challenges, pains and needs. You learn about their mental models and you can see through their often solution-based suggestions for improvement.
You test designs with relevant clients or stakeholders.
You turn requirements from the Product Manager or analyses of our developers into workable designs.
