From Client Relations to Implementation
Margareta describes her new role at ProUnity not so much as a change, but rather as an expansion of her previous responsibilities. As Implementation Lead & Senior Client Relationship Manager, she remains closely involved in maintaining client relationships, a task she has been passionately carrying out for 3 and a half years. This continuity helps her to stay in touch with the daily challenges of clients, which is essential for her work. In addition, Margareta now leads the implementation of the ProUnity solution for new Dutch and English-speaking clients.
Her first experience with an implementation at Aquafin in 2022 left her wanting more. “I immediately got the taste for it,” says Margareta enthusiastically. Since then, she has also worked on a similar process with the BCL, the Central Bank of Luxembourg, and she is now once more fully engaged in a new project with a new Flemish government client. Another important responsibility in her new role is the communication between the MSP team and ProUnity’s Product and Engineering team. As a liaison, she coordinates improvement proposals from colleagues, clients, and the Marketplace, and aligns them with the Chief Project and Technology Officer, Cristian Ciuperca.
Tech and touch for better customer results
Margareta’s previous experience as a Client Relationship Manager has excellently prepared her for her new role. Her direct contact with the field enabled her to discover various challenges and learn to deal with diverse situations. She has seen the platform evolve and grow in features and functionalities. It allows her in her new role to assess which platform improvements are valuable.
“No MSP program is the same, but this has enabled me to discover different challenges,” she explains. Her motivation for this new position stems from the satisfaction she derives from improving customer processes during implementations. Hearing that the program is running well, and that everyone is satisfied, is her greatest driving force.
New skills and Challenges
In her new role, Margareta has acquired new skills and knowledge, such as agile project management, drawing flowcharts and creating RASCI’s. But what is often underestimated are the people skills required for this position. Not everyone in an organization is eager to adjust their way of working. There are always proponents and opponents. “People want change but don’t want to be changed,” she recalls from her Change Management courses. It is crucial that everyone involved feels heard and has the feeling of being able to contribute.
In the area of Product & Engineering, Margareta is still in the process of learning. She now participates in the daily stand-ups of the P&E team, has weekly alignments with CPTO Cristian Ciuperca, and is getting to know the wonders of Azure DevOps and Confluence. This close collaboration enables her to better understand the impact of new functionalities and how they should be explained to the MSP team, the client and the Marketplace.
A journey of discovery
Looking back on her three and a half years at ProUnity, Margareta describes her professional growth as a journey of discovery, with CEO David Muyldermans as her compass. “When I joined ProUnity, we were only twelve. Now we are more than thirty,” she says. This time in a smaller team has given her the opportunity to explore all facets of the company and experience what suits her best. Margareta: “David was always there to point me in the right direction or to steer me. He gave me the chance to get a taste of an implementation, which gave my career a new direction.”
Future Perspective
For the coming year, Margareta wants to become more confident in everything she does. With new tasks comes a bit of uncertainty, but with the support of the experienced team around her, she is convinced that it will all work out fine, and she is looking forward to continuing to evolve in her role, as ProUnity continues to innovate and move into new territory.
What excites Margareta most about ProUnity’s future is the further growth of the company, both in the number of colleagues and clients, and the national and international expansion. Despite this, the warm and supportive atmosphere remains unchanged, making ProUnity strong and confident. “I really look forward to witnessing the growing awareness of ProUnity in Belgium and beyond, and I see great potential in our company’s innovative approach. The future looks challenging but bright!”
Change is just another word for opportunity
Margareta’s advice for others who want to grow in their careers in fast-growing companies is to see change as an opportunity, not an obstacle. “In fast-growing companies, it’s important not only to climb the ladder of success, but also to learn to dance with change. Flexibility and curiosity are the keys to success,” she says with conviction. With these inspiring words, Margareta concludes the interview, reflecting on her journey at ProUnity and the promising future that lies ahead of her.
