IT Field Engineer – Migration Project
Location: Volkswagen D’Ieteren Finance Philipssite 5, 3001 Leuven
Contract Duration: 2 months (temporary) + potential extension
Start Date: ASAP
Job Overview:
As an IT Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our migration project, where we are replacing existing hardware (laptops and iPhones) with new equipment. You will support our team in deploying new laptops and iPhones to our employees, ensuring a smooth transition, and providing hands-on assistance during the migration period.
Responsibilities:
– Installation and Configuration: Prepare, install, and configure new laptops and iPhones according to established company standards.
– Data Migration: Transfer data and settings from old to new devices.
– Troubleshooting: Resolve any technical issues that arise during the installation or use of the new hardware.
– User Support: Assist end-users during the transition to the new devices, including providing brief instructions and answering questions.
– Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, completed migrations, and incidents that occurred.
– Collaboration: Work closely with the internal IT team to ensure the migration is completed smoothly and within the established timelines.
– Post-Migration Support: Provide post-migration support to users, such as resolving any issues that arise and offering further guidance if necessary.
Requirements:
– Education: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
– Experience: Proven experience in a similar role as an IT Field Engineer or IT Support Engineer.
– Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows OS, macOS, iOS, and hardware configuration. Experience with migration projects is highly desirable.
– Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
– Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch, French and English.
– Flexibility: Willingness to work at various locations and be available outside regular office hours if necessary.
– Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license (Class B) and willingness to travel to different work locations.
