Ravi Gnanasivam’s first month as ProUnity’s new Product owner
“ProUnity’s platform is like a jaguar, fast, aesthetic and cool!”
ProUnity recently welcomed Ravindran ‘Ravi’ Gnanasivam as its new Product owner. In close collaboration with ProUnity’s CTO Cristian Ciuperca, Ravi supports the company’s development team, defining what to build and why we build it.
His experience as a developer, Quality Assurance officer and Scrum Master make him the right person to maximize the value of the product under development. It puts him in a perfect position to share a clear opinion on ProUnity and its platform. So, dear Ravi, what do you think?
Ravi, how do you feel after your first weeks at ProUnity?
I’m energized and slowly getting into the groove of things happening here. It takes some time to understand the power tools ProUnity has developed, both from a content and technical point of view and to see how we want to move forward on our innovative path serving our clients.
What struck you most in your new job?
I like how decision-making works at ProUnity. It’s very fast compared to my previous work experiences. The size and structure of the company plus the nature of the business make that we quickly move from opportunities and challenges to new ideas and results.
You want to see efforts reflected in results and that is exactly what we do in our team.
We discuss changes rapidly and take it to the next level together, getting results faster. That is refreshing! I’ve worked in much larger teams, with much more distributed responsibilities and tasks. At ProUnity, we closely work together and that gives an additional level of flexibility. Our interaction is fluent and feels right.
How is ProUnity’s management involved in this road towards results?
Management is very open and accessible. I don’t have to wait or send reminders and my opinions are valued. I can share what is working well and what I feel can be improved. Also, when I don’t understand something, I can ask and get clear answers.
We’re an HR Tech company. So, what do you think of our technology?
I’m focusing now on the functional side meeting our clients’ expectations and that’s going well. My first impression of the product is very positive. The design, customer journey and user experience are well made.
The platform is clear and intuitive, and the technology is up-to-date.
We don’t have the weight of legacy systems holding us back, so we don’t have to catch up. This means we can deliver quality and adapt fast to needs and requests.
How did you experience your first weeks at ProUnity on a personal level?
The atmosphere is open at ProUnity, people reach out to you and encourage you to do the same. You quickly are taken in by the human side of this company. Colleagues are never too busy to start a conversation, and make you feel part of the team. That is heart-warming.
ProUnity is now part of HeadFirst Group. First impressions?
This opens extra opportunities for our company. I really enjoyed the recent event at the HeadFirst office in the Netherlands we all participated in. The professional meetings confirmed we have valuable IT know-how in the group. And the evening celebration was great fun. I follow electronic music, so I joined in when the party DJ made a round of Dutch artists like Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix, and then played Paul Kalkbrenner (laughs).
What animal would you compare ProUnity’s platform with?
ProUnity’s platform is like a jaguar. It’s a fast animal, that looks aesthetic and cool. It has style and confidence, and things move fast here!
And what car would you compare the platform with?
If we would be a car, I would say we are a classy Audi. It combines some luxury with some sportiness and clever technology, in a balanced way. So, it does the job very well, but without exaggeration you sometimes see in some other high end car brands. Yes, the platform is a talent management system with style and power!
Any thoughts in conclusion?
I’m happy to be here and be part of the ProUnity team!
It’s great to see we help each other to move towards excellence.
We work together with motivated people in the company and in our growing relationships with our clients. They also support us and in doing they strengthen our corporate vision.
We support freelance and supplier talent looking for projects and great organizations looking to share their new job opportunities. That is very valuable for business and society!
